Professional Image (Dress Code)

A professional image is a requirement for successful participation in school. Future Professionals must maintain the following professional dress code:

  1. Students must wear all black.
  2. Instructor program students must wear black or white in any combination.
  3. A minimal print or pattern in clothing is acceptable if it is professional or a Paul Mitchell affiliated logo.
  4. Clothing must be professional, clean, and free of stains and tears.
  5. Shoes may be black, white, or black & white.
  6. Hair must be clean and styled prior to arriving at school.
  7. Pants, dresses & Jeans or clothing made of jean material must be black. Any rips or tears must fall below the fingertips.
  8. Stylish hats, scarves and stylish head wraps are acceptable. Any logoed hats must be professional, clean and free of tears and stains.
  9. Sweatshirts, printed T-shirts and jackets with a Paul Mitchell affiliated or school logo are acceptable.
  10. Tights or leggings must be worn with skirts or tops that falls below the fingertips. Cut outs and see-through panels on leggings/pants must fall below the fingertips. Skirts and shorts must fall below the fingertips.
  11. Name tag - as provided by the school. All Future Professionals are required to wear a name tag while in attendance.
  12. Future Professionals who fail to comply with the Future Professional Dress Code may be coached and may receive an advisory.

The following is a list of unacceptable dress for all Future Professional in attendance:

  1. Foot thongs, beach sandals, and slippers. Crocs and similar shoes are allowed as long as they have an ankle strap.
  2. Tank tops, spaghetti string tops/dresses, sleeveless tops/dresses, and belly shirts (crop tops).

Future Professionals who fail to comply with the Future Professional dress code may be coached and may receive an advisory.
